Band on the Run - Foo Fighters
This is seriously one of the most gorgeous covers ever, it makes me melt.
Huh… I don’t really have a song I listen to when I’m happy cause generally I’m happy like 85% of the time and I’m listening to music like 24/7. A few songs make me happy though… but that was like the same as day 2. Well, Stealing People’s Mail by the Dead Kennedys is really funny so I guess I listen to that when I’m happy hahah.
Settle down
I won’t hesitate
To hit the highway
Before you lay me to waste no
Settle up and I’ll help you find something to drive
Before you drive me insaneSo get yourself a car
And drive it all alone
Get yourself a car
And ride it on the wind
Wind Up by Foo Fighters. Totally, it’s golden.
Wow, this is the easiest question to answer. I’m totally 100% obesessed with rock music. I love all kinds of it, classic rock like from the 70’s like Zeppelin, and the Beatles, and the Who. And garage like the Hives or the Kinks or Eagles of Death Metal. And grungey stuff like Nirvana or Primus. And punk, is just one of the best kinds. Bad Brains are seriously the epitome of punk, DC in the late 80’s and early 90’s had the best underground rock. Scream was a part of that and they’re freaking fantastic too. And indie rock, is OKAY it’s defintely my least favorite genre, like Cage the Elephant and stuff, even though them and like Kasabian are totally awesome bands, I usually don’t like overly indie stuff like Matt & Kim. Then 90’s there’s 90’s alt rock. Which is my favorite of all time, ever. Like Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, DMB, Sonic Youth, Queens of the Stoneage, CAKE. Basically, if you have XM radio, the channel Lithium is everything I love on one radio station, so this is basically the most convenient thing ever.
I really love rockumentaries too. Like the best 2 I have seen are Back & Forth, the one about the Foo Fighters from like 1991-present day. And THEN there’s It Might Get Loud which is just Jimi Page and Jack White and the Edge all chilling in one room together with their guitars, which is entertainment in itself but they talk about really interesting stuff, from all the bands they were in and just about life and being a musician. (Damn, I really want to watch that again now.. Ohh Rowenaaa… she’s the only person I know who owns it…) But then there’s this OTHER movie, Pirate Radio, which isn’t a documentary but it was based off a true story and it’s set in England when rock was banned from the radio so this kick ass crew of guys are all out in the middle of the fucking ocean broadcasting on a channel called “Radio Rock” while fighting “the man.” And I won’t say anymore in case someone actually reads this and wants to see the movie but hasn’t.
What else can I say? OH YEAH! I love PLAYING rock music. I can sorta play the guitar, I steal Grace’s peavy because I don’t have my own electric guitar. But I’ve been playing the bass for like… 2 years now and I totally love it. Even more than the guitar, I like how low it sounds. And how the strings are way farther apart than on the guitar which really pisses me off.
I like WATCHING rock music. Like live, they can do whatever the hell they want, musicians. It’s all about sticking it to the man before he can stick it to you anyway. I quote Grace when talking about Dave Grohl when I say “he could just get up on stage and burp and sneeze and be disguisting but I’d still probably bawl when him and the rest of the band got on stage just because they’re that great.” Rock music isn’t all about computers and being perfect and all that crap that pop music seems like these days, it’s just about being talented and making music on records that sounds just as good live. I went to see the Arctic Monkeys at the House of Blues and they sounded 10 times better live than all their albums.
I feel totally satisfied with this rant. But here’s a picture of my bedroom wall, which totally proves that this an “obession”

That’s really hard to pick a favorite album… Hahahah but the album I’m totally obessed with is the Bad Brains debut album, so I’ll say Big Take Over cause that’s one of the best songs on the album.
Vile by the Foo Fighters
This song’s just cool. It’s like somehow they got the sound of scratching a record in their but it also sounds like punk. And it has great movement to it. And furthermore I’m obsessed.
